Joint Academic Day - Wednesday, May 23, 2012
Join your colleagues a day prior to the opening of the AAPD Annual Session for the 2012 Joint Academic Day.
Scoring for the national board examination has now become pass/fail. National board scores have long been utilized in the application process for advanced education programs in pediatric dentistry. The question from the dental school educators and graduate program directors has become how to evaluate applicants. Join Dr. Martin Davis as he leads the discussion during the combined morning program regarding the management of recommendations from evaluators; whether they are faculty or administration and how to maintain the integrity of the application process. Our colleagues from graduate medical education will be present to discuss the application and interview process for medical residencies; what they look for in letters of recommendation, usefulness of multiple mini-interviews (MMI) and other related topics. An update on the ADEA / FADEA Project will also be presented.
Following lunch, the Society of Postdoctoral Program Directors and the Society of Predoctoral Program Directors will meet independently for programs pertaining to their related groups.
