Welcome Reception: AAPD Block
Party in the Gaslamp Quarter

The Gaslamp Quarter is yours during this exclusive AAPD Block Party! You’ll know you’re in the right place (5th & J Streets) when you see the stilt walkers, signage and entertainment. Food and beverages fromn participating restaurants will available in those restaurants and on the streets, including: Red Pearl (Asian Fusion), Jolt’N Joes,
Dick’s Last Resort, Gaslamp Strip Club (Steaks), Sevilla (Spanish), Donovan’s (Seafood), Acqua Al 2 (Italian), Masala (Indian), and Rockin’ Baja (Mexican).

New this year, we encourage you to take your children to our expanded children’s
area. In the Kids Zone at Jolt’N Joes, there are dedicated activities for children of all
ages from building blocks and Legos to grocery stores and kitchens supervised by
licensed professionals; feel free to have some adult time while your children are safely in
the Kids Zone. Or check out the VIP Teen Scene located at Jolt’N Joes. Inside Joe’s you
will find everything from Wii games to foosball, pool tables, a flip photo book station,
and more to keep everyone entertained!

A great band is going to perform on the main stage; however, be sure to check out the other entertainment lined up in venues set up throughout our street festival. Some other attractions include: caricature artists, tattoo artists, cigar rollers, belly dancers, mariachi band, interactive photo booths and
much more.
Be sure to have your ticket(s) and badge for the Welcome Reception with you for
the security check at the party entrance on 5th and J Streets. The Gaslamp Quarter
is a short walk from all the AAPD Annual Session official hotels and the Convention
Center. All attendees and guests signed up for the event will receive a backstage pass
providing specific details upon arrival.

New Pediatric Dentist Happy Hour
Double Deuce (Ticketed Event)

Network with other new dentists from across the country and welcome the student
members during this popular reception held in the Gaslamp Quarter! Play a game
of pool, Wii games or an old school arcade game while enjoying either the DJ in one
part of the bar or the live band. Bring your nerves; there is a mechanical bull for the
brave of heart! Enjoy the fun libations and hors d’oeuvres available throughout the venue,
including the outdoor patio.

International Reception

This reception began in 2010 at the Annual Session and has continued to be a
popular event for international members and attendees. Join members of the AAPD
board of trustees, learn more about the AAPD and network with fellow international
attendees before enjoying your evening in San Diego.

Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children
Donor Appreciation Gala
San Diego Zoo (Ticketed Event)

Join your friends, colleagues, HSHC and AAPD board of trustees to honor Foundation
donors for their generosity and commitment to HSHC at the San Diego Zoo.
Upon arrival, guests will take a 30 minute trolley tour of the zoo. Guests will then
be brought to the Zoofari where they can enjoy cocktails and dinner while mingling with
legendary environmentalist Joan Embery. Embery will have "feathery, furry, and scaly
friends" to introduce. Attire for this event is upscale resort.
Donors at the Leaders Circle level and above will receive two complimentary tickets.

Presidents’ Farewell Dinner

Join your friends, colleagues and the presidents of AAPD and Healthy Smiles,
Healthy Children, the Foundation of the AAPD, at the historic Hotel Del Coronado,
a beautiful destination synonymous with San Diego.
This event is the highlight of the meeting honoring the individuals achieving the greatest
honors AAPD bestows upon its members. End the Annual Session with a memorable
dinner dancing the night away in one of the most breathtaking settings in San Diego!
Attire for this event is upscale resort since we will be at one of America’s most beautiful
beach resorts. The Del offers attendees a unique combination of modern luxury
touched with the charm and grace of a fairytale castle.
