Its a pleasure to invite you, your office staff and family to the 66th Annual Session of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) held in Orlando! All of the planning efforts have paid off and were in a greaposition to have one of the best meetings ever. Everything from the education to the exhibits takes place at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel and Convention Center including the Presidents’ Farewell Dinner on Sunday evening, highlighting the award-winning culinary team at the hotel.

Located in the heart of the Walt Disney World® Resort, the award-winning Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is a gateway to the theme parks and attractions. The resort is located between Epcot® and Disneys Hollywood Studios®. Enjoy the spectacular restaurants and lounges, pools, a white sand beach, health clubs, tennis, and special Disney benefits. These benefits include: Extra Magic Hours Benefit at Theme Parks; complimentary scheduled transportation throughout Disney; On-site Disney Ticket Desks; character dining; and advance tee times on championship Disney golf courses.

Each day one of the four Disney Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to an extra three hours after regular closing for you to enjoy select attractions. So you can get all your CE and still visit the parks with your family!

The Welcome Reception takes place at Disneys Hollywood Studios®; the AAPD has exclusive access to the park for three hours, including a fireworks finale! We will have unlimited access to the various quick service restaurants so that everyone can get to the attractions and additional buffets throughout the park. Theme park attractions include: Rock ‘n Roll Coaster® Starring Aerosmith, Star Tours® The Adventures Continue, Toy Story Mania!, the Great Movie Ride, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, a performance of Beauty and the Beast, Muppet* Vision 3-D, the Indiana Jones™ Epic Stunt Spectacular and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This will be a magical evening not to be missed!

The scientific program promises to deliver the cuttingedge topics youve come to expect at the Annual Session. The Preconference Course on Thursday is an update from this falls Joint Symposium on Pulp Therapy and Trauma. The keynote speaker is Chef Marcus Samuelsson. Marcus Samuelsson is an internationally acclaimed chef who has thrilled the food scene with a blend of culture and artistic excellence. Marcus caught the attention of the culinary world at Aquavit. During his tenure as executive chef, he received an impressive three-star rating from the New York Times, the youngest person ever to receive such an accolade.

In addition to being a successful cookbook author, Marcus released his New York Times Bestseller "Yes, Chef " in 2012 to rave reviews. He has been featured on a number of media platforms including Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the Martha Stewart Show, Today Show, Regis and Kelly and Charlie Rose. He was the winner on Bravos Top Chef Masters Season Two and serves as a recurring judge for Chopped, one of Food Networks highest rated series with a following of over 20 million viewers a month. Marcus was also named the winner of the second season of Chopped All-Stars.

In 2009, Marcus was honored as a guest chef at the White House, where he planned and executed the administrations first state dinner for the first family, Prime Minister Singh of India and 400 of their guests. He has been a UNICEF ambassador since 2000, focusing his advocacy on water and sanitation issues, specifically the Tap Project.

The celebration at the Presidents’ Farewell Dinner promises to be an amazing black-tie affair with the exquisite culinary team at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel. Be sure to make plans to stay for this wonderful event honoring our top achievers in the pediatric dentist community!
