Request for Board of Trustees Nominations Districts II and III

May 2013 Volume XLVIX Number 3

The AAPD is accepting nominations for trustee positions in two districts. Current Trustees Shari C. Kohn (District II) and K. Jean Beauchamp (District III) will rotate off the Academys board of trustees at the conclusion of the 2014 Annual Session. Nominations for new trustees from District V and District VI, for a three-year term beginning in 2014-15, are now being accepted. Nominations must

be transmitted to AAPD headquarters from District II and District III for their respective positions. The nominations packet must be postmarked no later than Sept. 1, 2013, and returned to the AAPD headquarters office to the attention of Margaret Bjerklie. These nominations must come from the District II and District III organization for the respective positions, and can be transmitted in one of two manners:

Individuals from the applicable district can submit a nomination by including:

  1. A letter signed by 10 AAPD voting members from the district signifying support of the nomination.
  2. An AAPD nomination form* signed and dated by the nominee.

A recognized AAPD state unit in the District can submit a nomination by including:

  1. A letter, signed and dated, from the president of the recognized state unit certifying that the nomination is an official action of the state unit.
  2. The AAPD nomination form*, signed and dated by the nominee.

Under either scenario, all materials must be forwarded to the district organization, which will in turn forward these materials to the AAPD headquarters.

If two or more candidates are nominated, the AAPD will conduct a mail ballot of each AAPD voting member in the district in order to select the trustee.

Please note that if the 2013 General Assembly approves the proposed consolidation of Districts I and II, then the District II Trustee will not be replaced and the incoming District I Trustee nominee (Dr. David Tesini) will serve a three-year term representing the combined Districts I and II.
