It is my privilege to announce that the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry is launching an exciting new rebranding campaign that will accentuate the importance of pediatric dentistry and distinguish our members as the experts on children's oral health. The new brand identity is the start of a consumer-focused effort to include a broad awareness campaign launching in 2014.


Through a close collaboration with the AAPD board of trustees and our public relations agency, we have developed and refined the first element of this rebranding campaign: the unchanged AAPD logo mark is now paired with a new tagline that is styled to reflect the approachability, care and expertise of pediatric dentists, "America's Pediatric Dentists, The Big Authority on Little Teeth."




As the gatekeepers to children's oral health, pediatric dentists deliver unmatched expertise and care that advances the profession and our collective mission daily. Our goal with this new campaign is to convey our level of leadership and expertise on the topic of children's oral health. We believe this new branding is a clear and recognizable statement that will resonate with consumers.


Between the epidemic of dental disease among children and the significant changes to dental coverage under the Affordable Care Act, parents and caregivers need an authoritative resource to help them navigate these critical issues related to the health and well-being of children.


We are confident that our new brand will accurately portray the passion and dedication displayed by you, our members, and articulate your unique expertise in a way that will resonate with the families we treat as well as the general public.


The excitement is building as we embark on this historic endeavor. October marked the official AAPD rebranding launch to the public. In the months to come, you and your staff will receive updates as we transition to full use of the new logo and tagline. We are proud to recognize 8,800 members across the nation as industry experts in pediatric dentistry. Your passion has elevated the AAPD to an exciting level of prestige and will propel the success of the new brand and consumer-focused campaign, which you will hear more about soon.
