Tonya Almond, CMP, Meeting Services Senior Director, was recently appointed to the board of directors for the Greater Midwest Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). As one of PCMA's largest chapters, the Greater Midwest Chapter offers cutting-edge educational programs, community service projects, professional recognition, CMP Study Groups, student activities, and many other opportunities for its members. PCMA's Greater Midwest Chapter serves 1200 members from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.


Cindy Hansen was recently promoted to Publications Director. Cindy is the second-longest serving member of the AAPD staff. Her outstanding work and dedication and loyalty to the AAPD is most noteworthy.


Michelle Hidalgo recently joined the AAPD Annual Fund Coordinator for Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children (HSHC). Michelle has a B.A., in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and a Master of Arts and Sciences (Integrated Marketing Communications) from Roosevelt University. She has worked the past two years at Heartland Health Centers in Chicago, and the previous three years at the Ounce of Prevention Fund. Michelle also volunteers for the Make a Wish Foundation, Illinois Chapter, and One Tail at a Time -Animal Rescue Group.


Jessica Vaughn recently joined the AAPD staff in the position of Meetings and Education Coordinator. Jessica is a graduate of the University of Kansas (majoring in communications) and has experience with two different firms in Kansas City related to meetings and event planning
