A Message from Your President: See You in Seattle!

January 2015 Volume LI Number 1

It's a pleasure to invite you, your office staff and family to AAPD 2015 of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in Seattle! All of the planning efforts have paid off and we're in a great position to have one of the best meetings ever. The Scientific Program takes place at the Washington State Convention Center located downtown; all the hotels are conveniently located within a couple blocks and are nearby numerous restaurants and shops, including the flagship Nordstrom.

The Welcome Reception takes place on Thursday night, it's the TRIFECTA: the EMP, the Space Needle and the Chihuly Museum and Gardens; the AAPD has exclusive access to these spectacular venues in the Seattle Center! We have one of the best party bands in the country, the Spaz-matics from Austin, Texas. They will keep you dancing all night! Spend time in the EMP making music and visiting Jimi Hendrix's guitar monument or pretend you are singing with Macklemore. Don't miss the gorgeous gardens at Chihuly and his stunning glass works. And the views from the top of the Space Needle are stunning!

The Scientific Program promises to deliver the cutting-edge topics you've come to expect at the Annual Session. The Preconference Course on Thursday is for you and your team titled "Start Monday Smiling, Not Stressing." The opening keynote speaker is Frank Abagnale. Do you remember the book or movie, Catch Me If You Can? Meet the real con artist who inspired them.

The Presidents' Farewell Dinner has taken a new turn. Come check out the steampunk theme at the Fremont Studios and enjoy a lively evening with your friends and colleagues! Be sure to make plans to stay for this wonderful event honoring our top achievers in the pediatric dentist community.

I would like to personally thank Cody Mast, the local arrangements chair. His time and dedication to make this a spectacular event is appreciated by me, and will be noticed by everyone.

See you in Seattle!
