Explore history of the Embassy of Italy, its vast atrium, covered by a glass dome, and the design of Architect Piero Sartogo. Sartogo took inspiration from the urban framework of Washington at the end of the eighteenth century by Architect Pierre Charles l’Enfant. Embark on an exhibition of Italian interior design from the last 40 years inspired by Carlo Scarpa, Achille Castiglione, Renzo Piano, Luciano Baldassarre, Ettore Sottsass and many others. Admire modern and traditional Italian artistry with archeological artifacts of the Greco-Roman era and discover Italian paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries.
HSHC Donors at the Leader’s Circle level and above will receive two complimentary tickets. Invitations and tickets will be mailed in early Spring 2017. Limited tickets are available for purchase at $625 per person.
